20 years paragliding around the world, and 15 years conducting Tandem flights.

Tandem Pilot Kelly Davis started in the field of  Aviation in 1975 washing planes at a small airport on the Front Range.  His first introduction to paragliding came in the summer of 1990 on a tandem flight in Chamonix France while on an extended trip through Europe.  The Following Summer he produced a program for Vail Valley Community TV on a Paragliding School in Aspen.  Shortly there after, Kelly became a student of the school himself.  He spent that fall commuting between Vail and Aspen increasing his flight knowledge and experience.  He also had pioneered new flying sites in the Vail area for the few pilots that lived there, as well has held several records in Vail for time aloft, distance flown, and altitude gains.  Kelly teamed up with another Pilot to open the Vail Paragliding School in 1992.  During the 1994 U.S. Open and National Paragliding Championships, Kelly finished  in Second place in USHGA (United States Hang gliding Association (now USHPA))  scoring for U.S. Pilots, and  6th overall.  Having achieved the Paragliding Tandem rating earlier that summer, he moved to Aspen that Fall to become a full time pilot in Aspen (flying 300-400 flights a year).  In the Spring of 1995 Kelly traveled back to Europe to fly and train for the Paragliding World Cup (PWC) in Austria.  In  September of 1996, Kelly became only the third pilot to fly from Aspen Mountain , and land over the Elk mountain Range in the Town of Crested  Butte. The Fall of 1997, he was instrumental in helping a California pilot, who lost his eyesight, fly again solo for the first time in the Big Sur coastal area. The year 1998, found Kelly in competition once again at the U.S. Nationals in Lakeview Oregon, this time flying Tandem in the Championships!  Following the Appointment as an IP Administrator, Kelly has been instrumental in the opening of schools in Alaska and Kansas (tow launch), as well as working with several instructors and their associated schools around the West.

Kelly has flown in France, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland in Europe, as well as in New Zealand.  In the  U.S., the states of: California, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, Alaska as well  through out his home state of Colorado. Kelly, other than teaching in Vail and Aspen, and Alaska  has taught beginning students and held clinics at Point of the Mountain in Utah.   Kelly has over 1500 hours of air time, and 3500 flights.

Other than the sport of Paragliding, Kelly is an accomplished mountaineer in Colorado.  He has climbed all 54 mountains over 14,000 feet in Colorado (26 of them solo). He also has as taught instructor courses and mountaineering courses.  Kelly designed, built, and operated a “Ropes Course” for the Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America, and still serves on Regional and National training staffs for the C.O.P.E. Program.  Kelly also has assisted in the construction of a "zip line" course in Thailand.   Kelly also has a B.S. degree from the University of Colorado, and a MBA from Regis University.
